A passionate charity worker, Rathana Ung contributed to the building of over 400 small homes as well as several water wells in Cambodia. In her free time, Rathana Ung enjoys listening to her favorite musician, Rihanna.
An eight-time Grammy Award winner, Rihanna is one of the world’s biggest pop stars. The native of Barbados has the third-most top-10 hits of all time on the Billboard Hot 100, behind only Madonna and The Beatles.
Music isn’t her only focus, however. She has a cameo in the summer blockbuster film Valerian, in which she plays an enslaved shapeshifting woman named Bubble, who launches into a rapid-fire, CG-assisted dance sequence.
To date, Rihanna has 64 acting credits, although most consist of music video shorts. She did, however, lend her voice to the 2015 film Home, and played the role of Moon Goddess in the 2014 remake of Annie. She had her first major role in 2012’s Battleship, in which she played Petty Officer Cora “Weps” Raikes. The 29-year-old is also slated to co-star in Ocean’s Eight, an all-female remake of Ocean’s 12, scheduled for release in June of 2018.
A former accounting student at California State University, Fullerton, Rathana Ung enjoys popular music and movies. One of Rathana Ung’s favorite movies is Joy, and her favorite actress is Jennifer Lawrence.
Born as the youngest of three children to a family in a Louisville, Kentucky, suburb in 1990, Jennifer Lawrence never had dreams to become an actor. Until the age of 14, she had focused on athletics and had had relatively little drama training. Although she had done some local modeling and community theater, she had planned to become a doctor. Her plans changed during a family vacation to New York City at the age of 14, when she was discovered by a talent scout.
The scout took her photo and her mother’s telephone number. The following day, she was invited to perform a screen test, and things took off quickly from there. She spent the summer in New York City, appearing in commercials for MTV and in the motion picture The Devil You Know.
Lawrence’s success motivated the family to move to Los Angeles, where she acted in various television series, including Monk and Cold Case. She eventually secured a part on The Bill Engvall Show on TBS.
Her early career also included roles in films such as The Burning Plain and The Poker House. Her big movie break came in 2010 with the film Winter’s Bone, which earned her her first Golden Globe and Academy Award nominations.
A former student of accounting at California State University, Fullerton, Rathana Unng is a music lover. Rathana Ung especially enjoys listening to Adele.
An only child in North London, Adele wasn’t born into a musical family, but she was privileged to have an “arty mom” who encouraged her to try different things. Unfortunately, her father left when she was only 4, and his alcoholism led to their eventual estrangement.
Adele became fascinated by music at a young age, and she grew fond of both Mary J. Blige and Destiny’s Child. Nevertheless, it wasn’t until she was 15 that she stumbled on some albums of Etta James and Ella Fitzgerald. From these, she found real inspiration in music that had been recorded some 40 years before her birth.
Though brilliant, Adele was a not a book-learner, so her mother got her into the BRIT School for Performing Arts & Technology. While a student, she recorded three songs for a school project that she uploaded to her MySpace page. The right people at XL Recordings listened to them and signed her to her first recording contract in 2006, just after she had graduated. She went on to win multiple Grammys and is an Oscar-winning songwriter.
A passionate charity worker in her home country of Cambodia, Rathana Ung has taken part in numerous goodwill initiatives such as building homes, wells, and developing water systems in small villages. In her spare time, Rathana Ung enjoys listening to the music of Ed Sheeran.
A Grammy Award-winning pop artist, Sheeran’s second album, X (pronounced multiply) debuted on the Billboard 200 chart at No. 1 in 2014 and has since sold over 2.8 million copies, making it the third best-selling album in the past decade. In its first week, the album sold 210,000 physical and digital units worldwide, which marked the most album sales for a British male solo artist since Rod Stewart’s “Stardust … The Great American Songbook Vol. III” sold 240,000 units in its debut week in 2004.
Although his total album sales are well short of the 20 million Adele’s 21 has generated, he did overtake the “Hello” artist in November of 2015 when X remained in the top-10 on the UK charts for a 73rd consecutive week, beating Adele’s 71-week record. Sheeran’s third album, ÷ (divide) was released on March 3, 2017.
